WHAT WE DO
Remember that old-world sense of neighborhood? Calling your dad or a friend next door to help troubleshoot when things broke down? A cup of coffee in hand, a handshake, and the good satisfaction of helping others?
Our hope is that calling Good Dog Home and Handy feels like calling a friend next door -- one who can help enhance the design and function of your home, problem-solve home repairs and assist with maintenance needs. Your name and your story matter more to us than ‘brand’ recognition or sales. Our desire is to work towards both the short term and long term care and maintenance of the home, and for the general upbuilding of our neighborhoods and community.

A NOTE FROM AARON
I grew up with an artistic mother and a father that was both handy and creative. My dad passed down a willingness to try new things and a love for figuring out how these things work. He was an interesting combination of intellectual academic and craftsman/entrepreneur with an eye for detail and solving complex problems – with both people and things.
Like my father, I am curious, and I love to figure out how to fix and make things better than I found them. My brother and I were handed down a legacy of creating, constructing and working for the sake of both function AND beauty. I enjoy sharing my DIY skills with friends – from teaching them how to fix their brakes, showing them how to repair a washing machine, preventing a dishwasher flood or simply being there to help in an emergency. I love that people are willing to call at all hours!
I’ve worked in tech management, in ministry, and in homebuilding. No matter where I’ve been, connecting with people from all walks of life, sharing stories and building relationships is central to who I am. Building this business is about loyalty and stability, not the quick flip. It’s important to me that customers know they can trust me because I am committed and do what I say.
Perhaps my favorite compliment is when someone who I am just getting to know turns to me after dinner at our place and says, “This just feels like home. I love coming over.”
At the end of a project or repair, I hope you'll have a good story to tell a friend about your experience working with me, to trust my recommendations and for Good Dog Home and Handy to be in your ‘speed dial’. I am committed to community, to helping broken things become restored, making lackluster spaces shine, and helping make your house a place that you love to call “home.”

We’ve used Aaron for a couple of projects now, and most recently he and his team completed a full bathroom remodel for us. We had never done a project like this before, so we really leaned on Aaron to guide us through the process—and he delivered. We highly recommend Good Dog Home and Handy. Aaron and his team are easy to communicate with and always transparent. They kept us updated throughout the entire project. Aaron has a great eye for design and a strong attention to detail. He presents thoughtful options and genuinely wants the job done right. We couldn't be happier with the results!

Aaron did a complete remodel of our master bath. Our special needs were for handicap access to the shower in a small space plus extra grab bars. Aaron did a terrific job, handled all our needs and delivered a beautiful, and practical bathroom with handicap access. We appreciated his quality workmanship and attention to detail.

Aaron came through in a pinch, when my client needed some drywall patchwork done in a utility closet, and time was of the essence. The workmanship was done to specs, considering even the tight spaces allowed. Aaron is prompt and responsive, even on the smaller jobs. I am impressed by his vision and understanding of the task at hand, and always making my client feel like they come first. I highly recommend Aaron for the smaller and larger projects necessary of managing and improving a home.

I called Aaron to rebuild an old deck and bring it up to code. He was up front about what he would do and what I needed to do to get ready for him. It turned out beyond my expectations especially as I watched him rebuild the sub-structure to meet code. The new deck is now a modernizing luxury element added to my home.
He had me in the loop with every decision, suggested possible design elements and was patient with my uneducated questions. I would definitely recommend him!

Aaron and his team did a great job following up and understanding my priorities and use case for a barn attic ladder. He is very efficient at getting the job done quickly with his crew and for the price that he estimated. Aaron also looked at some other home improvements while he was here or calling in other contractors always trying to help wherever he could. I would use GDHH again in the future. It was a great experience.

We have done three projects now with Good Dog - from rebuilding a back stoop to a full kitchen remodel and can highly recommend them. Aaron and the entire crew are hard-working, meticulous and conscientious on every job, big or small.
When he we needed a solution for steps at our backdoor, Aaron’s ability to consider what we wanted, provide a critical design eye and propose a solution to meet our needs was incredible. The final result exceeded our expectations, looks fantastic and highly complements our home. It was built with the necessary care and craftsmanship required for a place where it rains a lot.
